Roof top tent Experts
For more than 10 years we have been the experts in roof top tents and accessories for vehicles
The Hyundai Venue is a great all-rounder that offers you a lot of space inside for your whole family and also gives you the opportunity to explore campgrounds off the beaten track. When you’re traveling with the Hyundai Venue, you don’t need a large camping trailer or even an expensive RV. With the Hyundai Venue and a rooftop tent, you are always very mobile and can also go on spontaneous camping trips.
A rooftop tent also has other advantages over a ground tent or camping trailer. Due to the elevated position on the Hyundai Venue’s vehicle roof, you are safe from both small and large animals. You are also safe from water or rain that collects on the ground. You are also safe from the night cold that comes out of the ground and could penetrate the ground tent.
A modern rooftop tent is also equipped with many features and comfort. A rooftop tent offers a lot of space and can be set up and taken down very quickly. So you can often change campgrounds without much effort.
Regardless of whether you want to buy a hard-shell or soft-shell, the Hyundai Venue offers enough space for a large six-person rooftop tent on the vehicle roof.
A hard-shell rooftop tent is usually easier and quicker to set up, even by a single person. But a soft-shell rooftop tent usually offers more space inside and more features.
So you can spend a great camping trip with your whole family or many friends. Of course, you can also buy a smaller rooftop tent and install it on the roof of the Hyundai Venue, that’s entirely up to you.
All you need to mount a rooftop tent on the roof of the Hyundai Venue are the appropriate roof rails (many Hyundai Venue years and models already have factory roof rails, so of course you don’t have to buy them again) and roof crossbars. The roof crossbars serve as a basis for assembling the rooftop tent. The rooftop tent is then screwed to four mounting spots on the crossbars and is thus securely and stably connected to the vehicle.
(Actually, all rooftop tents are universal. Most rooftop tents are screwed to the crossbars at four mounting spots on the underside of the roof tent. However, some rooftop tents have the option of direct attachment to the roof rails, then you need the crossbars obviously not.)
Further down on this page, you will find a small overview of the most popular rooftop tents for the Hyundai Venue.
The additional weight of the rooftop tent and the people in the roof tent is safely transferred to the vehicle body via the roof rails. This means that neither the roof nor the body of the vehicle is damaged.
All tents have a telescopic ladder with which you can get in and out of the roof tent safely and without any problems. There are also rooftop tents that have a practical awning (annex). This awning offers you a practical extra space that protects you from wind or rain, for example. So you can get straight into the awning in the morning without first leaving the protection of the tent.
The registered permitted roof load of the Hyundai Venue is relatively low, but this always refers to the vehicle in motion. This is important, for example, when transporting a roof box or other loads on the vehicle roof.
As soon as the vehicle is stationary, however, the permissible roof load increases many times over and you can stay or sleep on the vehicle roof with up to six people in the rooftop tent without any problems.
However, you must note that the rooftop tent on the vehicle roof increases fuel consumption and reduces the maximum range. The driving behavior can also deteriorate due to the rooftop tent, as the vehicle’s center of gravity shifts further upwards. So you should always drive very carefully during a camping trip with the rooftop tent and think about the increased fuel consumption. Therefore, you should always dismantle the rooftop tent and store it in the garage when you don’t need it.

In order to mount a rooftop tent on the roof of the Hyundai Venue, you need the right roof cross bars. The rooftop tent is bolted to the cross bars at four mounting spots. In this way, the roof tent is securely and stably connected to the vehicle and can optimally transfer the weight of the rooftop tent and the people to the vehicle body via the cross bars and the roof rails.

I sold my RV and bought a jeep with a roof rack tent mounted on it. That was the best decision i ever made. I can pitch my tent anywhere in the desert with my jeep and spend the night there. I would never have come to these places with my RV.
Mark S. Happy CustomerMy friend and I bought a roof tent for our car and now drive it almost every weekend into the wilderness and pitch our tent where it suits us. We're just excited about our new roof rack tent and never want to go camping without a roof tent again.
