The Infiniti Q70 is a great vehicle for the city and for the whole family. The Q70 offers enough interior space to take your whole family with you.

Did you know that you can also go camping with the Infiniti Q70? With the Infiniti Q70, you no longer need an uncomfortable ground tent if you want to go camping. You also don’t need an impractical camping trailer or even an expensive RV. All you need is a rooftop tent that you can mount on the roof of the Infiniti Q70.

A rooftop tent offers many advantages. With a rooftop tent, you can go camping spontaneously. You can also reach campgrounds that you could never reach with a heavy camping trailer or RV. You can pitch your tent wherever your vehicle goes.

A rooftop tent also offers the advantage that you are protected from small and large animals due to the elevated position on the vehicle roof. You are also safe on the vehicle roof from water or rain that collects on the ground. The rooftop tent can be erected and dismantled in just a few minutes. So you can change campgrounds quickly and without much effort.

All you need for a rooftop tent on the roof of the Infiniti Q70 are the right roof rails and roof crossbars. The roof rails are screwed firmly to the vehicle compartment (vehicle body) of the Q70. There are factory threads on the roof of the Q70, to which you can securely screw the roof rails.

The crossbars are then attached to the roof rails, providing a secure platform for attaching the rooftop tent. Some rooftop tents are also attached directly to the roof rails, this always depends on the particular rooftop tent model.

Further down on this page, you will also find the most popular roof tents for the Infiniti Q70.

The Infiniti Q70 offers enough space on the vehicle roof to mount a four-person rooftop tent.

The weight of the rooftop tent and the people in the roof tent is transferred to the entire vehicle body via the roof rails. This means that neither the roof nor the body of the vehicle is damaged.

The registered permissible roof load of the Infiniti Q70 is relatively low, but this always refers to the vehicle in motion. This is only important if you are transporting a roof box or other loads on the vehicle roof, for example.

As soon as the vehicle is stationary, the permissible roof load of the Infiniti Q70 increases many times over. So you can easily mount a four-person rooftop tent on the vehicle roof.

You can reach the rooftop tent via a telescopic ladder that all rooftop tents have. So it is possible to get into and out of the rooftop tent without any problems.

Please note, however, that fuel consumption increases when you are traveling with a rooftop tent. Driving dynamics can also deteriorate as the vehicle’s center of gravity moves further upwards.

Therefore, you should always remove the rooftop tent when you don’t need it and store it safely in your garage.

Is it difficult to install a roof rack tent?

No! On the contrary, with most models you only have to screw the underside of the tent floor to the roof rack of your vehicle. The best way to do this is with two people, as the roof rack tent is relatively heavy. After you have tightened all the screws properly, you can put full load on the tent.

Is it difficult to clean the tent?

No, you can easily clean the outside of the tent with water and a little detergent. The inside of the tent is also best cleaned with soap and water. Make sure that the inside of the tent is completely dry before you fold it up and store it. Otherwise it could happen that mold could form in the tent due to the high humidity.

How many people can sleep on the roof of the car in the tent?

It all depends on the size of the tent. You can also sleep with three people in a two-person tent. The weight does not play such a big role here, as the tent is not supported on the roof of the car, but on the supporting pillars (A-pillar & C-pillar) of the car or truck. This means that the weight is always evenly distributed over the entire vehicle.

I sold my RV and bought a jeep with a roof rack tent mounted on it. That was the best decision i ever made. I can pitch my tent anywhere in the desert with my jeep and spend the night there. I would never have come to these places with my RV.

My friend and I bought a roof tent for our car and now drive it almost every weekend into the wilderness and pitch our tent where it suits us. We're just excited about our new roof rack tent and never want to go camping without a roof tent again.
